"Strong Case" For London Property Investment

There are several reasons to invest in real estate in London at present, one expert has claimed, noting that the Olympic Games is helping to drive interest among international investors. Peter Mindenhall, researcher at IPINGlobal.com, explained that there is a "very strong case" for putting money into London property.

He noted that both the residential and commercial sectors are performing well, although he recommended that investors keep "the relative short term" in mind when selecting their assets. Mr Mindenhall added that London will continue to perform better than the rest of the UK until the sporting event, after which "it really remains to be seen as to how much value can still be factored into property in the capital".

Last month, director of commercial real estate at Savills Mat Oakley pointed out that a recovery in London's property industry is likely to filter through to other areas of the country, adding that the UK should see this sector improve this year.
