Boston 'Top Choice' For Real Estate Investors

Boston has been named as the best US college city for investors this year by Move, Inc. The company has put together a list detailing the top options for those looking to put their money into real estate, with the Boston/Cambridge area singled out due to the 50 colleges it is home to, including MIT and Harvard.

In addition, Boston-area broker owner Paul Turcotte explained that rents in the region are expected to increase by up to 25 per cent due to the high level of demand for properties here. Chief executive officer of Move, Inc Steve Berkowitz noted that it is the low vacancy rates and large tenant base that makes property investment in US cities with universities or colleges "an attractive option".

Lawrence Yun, chief economist for the National Association of Realtors, recently pointed out that many US real estate markets have experienced house price rises and falls in a narrow range, "which shows a stabilisation trend". He added that regions with "solid labour market conditions" are seeing less fluctuation or even increases in values.
