
Buy to Let investors may be interested to learn that Turkey has been named as the favourite destination for travellers this year.
The prestigious accolade was presented to the country on behalf of the Conde Nast Traveller awards and represents the first time that Turkey has been recognised in such a way.
Indeed, demand for holidays and overseas property investment in the country has soared in recent times, with its favourable climate and strong economy proving to be a draw for visitors and investors alike.
Julian Walker, director of leading Turkish property agent Spot Blue, said that his company had seen demand for property in the region rise.
"Year on year enquiries for homes in Turkey have increased,'' he confirmed.
''We are seeing leisure purchasers set their eyes on some of the fabulous coastal resorts on the Mediterranean Sea and Aegean Sea and we are also finding investors flooding into the market with a particular interest in Istanbul.''
In total, there has been a 30 per cent increase in the number of foreigners investing in property in Turkey since 2008.
Currently, 104,000 overseas buyers own real estate in the country, official figures show.
