Commercial properties in the US have been found to offer the best prospects for foreign investment, according to the results of a recent report.
The Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE) has conducted a poll of foreign buyers who have ranked the US prime property market as having the most potential.
In total, 65 per cent of those questioned named the country as having the best chances for price appreciation. The news suggests that many potential buyers are putting aside concerns regarding the continuing recession and turning to the US as the real estate market stabilises and continues to grow.
"As the fear of a double-dip recession has faded, investors are becoming more enthusiastic about the prospects for the US economy and are taking aim at real estate investment opportunities in the US," James Fetgatter, AFIRE chief executive, confirmed.
The favoured property type is apartments, with retail properties coming in second place in the survey, with hotels third and offices in fourth. This was followed by the industrial market in fifth.
